Giving an Account

Dennis McCallum
1 Peter 3:15

Christians are called to be able to give a reasonable account for the hope we have in Jesus Christ. Because of the incredible complexity of reproducing life on earth, we have a powerful evidence of a designer of life. Even world-renowned biological scientists who were atheists became convinced of a divine creator after studying how some of the building blocks of life can only come into existence from already living biological systems. Only living cells can program and produce many of the proteins, carbohydrates, and enzymes necessary for life. This begs the question then where did the first fully functional, reproducing cell come from but a Creator?

United for a Purpose

Kate Mizelle
1 Timothy 1:5

Do we recognize that the biblical call to evangelism is not just an individual call, but a corporate call? To fully embrace what God intended, we must understand the unique witness that the body has to a lost world and why our best experience of community comes from when we are focused together on those outside of it. In this workshop we will also brainstorm some practical ideas on how to utilize community in evangelism.

Persuasion vs. Pressure

John Ross
1 Timothy 1:5

Being persuasive is a key factor in convincing others to give their lives to God. Using pressure can be counter-productive or ineffective in making our case. This teaching highlights what it looks like to be persuasive for God and how to avoid pressuring people. The teacher explains the effects of pressuring people and what it means about us. With the correct understanding we can create a healthy tension where we work with people, not against them.

Marks of the Creator Found in Creation (Pt. 3)

Conrad Hilario
Romans 1:18-20

Romans 1 says that God has made His existence evident within us. One way He has done this is by giving us a universal sense of morality and free will--both of which are dismissed by a pure naturalist worldview. We are challenged to examine the evidence and turn to the creator God.

Marks of the Creator Found in Creation (Pt. 2)

Conrad Hilario
Romans 1:18-20

In Romans 1, Paul tells us that God has made Himself known through his creation, but that people suppress the truth in unrighteousness. The origin of the universe is one part of creation that points to an intelligent being as its cause. We are challenged to examine the evidence and turn to the living God, who has made Himself known more fully through Jesus Christ.

Seeing God Through His Creation (Part 3)

Scott Risley
Romans 1:18-20

Romans 1 claims that God has made truth evident within us and can be plainly seen, though some people suppress the truth in unrighteousness. One way God has made truth evident within people is the universal values of morality and free will, but some naturalists and Darwinists today argue that these things do not exist--although they themselves are unable to live consistently with these beliefs. We should critically examine these ideas and seek a worldview that accurately describes our observations and allows us to live in a way that is in harmony of our worldview, rather than forcing us to adopt two conflicting sets of beliefs and values.

Marks of the Creator Found in Creation

Conrad Hilario
Romans 1:16-20

Romans 1 claims that God has made himself known through his creation. One of the ways scientific discovery points to an intelligent creator is the astonishing fine-tuning of the universe to enable life. We are challenged to look at the evidence and put our faith in Jesus Christ.

Seeing God Through His Creation (Part 2)

Scott Risley
Romans 1:18-20

Romans 1 teaches that God has made himself known through his creation, but that people suppress the truth with their bias. From the fine-tuning of the universe down to the DNA of cells, the breathtaking design of the universe strongly suggests an infinite intelligent creator, one whom we can know personally if we turn to Him.

Fine-Tuning of the Universe

James Rochford
Romans 1:16-20

In Romans 1, Paul makes the case that God has made Himself plainly known through his creation so that men are without excuse. Modern scientific findings show a remarkable level of fine-tuning in the universe, suggesting an infinite and extremely intelligent creator God.
